" Don't think I ever saw him flat out after a knockout he just stood slumped against the ropes and that meant taking more punches"
Very true. The only problem was, he was like that after a half-decent jab.

He might get a licence in Russia, Roy Jones Junior did and that guy is a walking punchbag these days.

Frank was always to brave for his own good. Don't think I ever saw him flat out after a knockout he just stood slumped against the ropes and that meant taking more punches. A better jaw and a bit nastier and he would have been a top drawer fighter. Seem to remember he was ahead against Lewis before being caught.

Re: Frank Bruno

it sounds like a horrible idea, he won his title in a Tysonless period vs Oliver Mcall who also wasnt all there & took some beatings from Tyson twice, Lewis & Witherspoon.
Loved the guy but he really needs to he on the end of a microphone not a stiff jab.
I'll never forget him rocking Tyson in the 1st fight, he froze and could've put him down, Harry Carpenter was going crazy.

Physically looks in good shape, he was doing pad work with Hatton recently and he looked ripped.

They should never give him a license to fight even if he goes to the end of the world to get one.

Frank is a legend who has won one of the greatest prizes in sport , after several tries, but his brain is obviously bored of living and not in good shape. Hope he survives the stunt if he does come back.

The club should name a row of seats at the O/S in his honour but not tell him where they are.
Tell him his licence to fight again is taped under one of them.
Finding it should occupy his mind long enough until proper dementia sets in.

Wasn't Bruno sectioned a while back? He could feasibly be thrown back in his padded cell just for suggesting this. Better off being Napolean for a day or two.

Sadly all too common in Boxing and even sadder that there will always be a market for it
If Alan Shearer announced tomorrow he was coming back for a season nobody would pay a reasonable amount to sign him nor would anyone be that interested to watch it
Ricky Hatton decides to lace them up one more time, Promoters jump over each other for a piece of the action, tickets sell out in minutes and a PPV channel buys the rights to screen it

Mentally fragile half blind man wants to relive his youth. Should NOT be allowed to happen. Bruno needs a hug, not 50 punches to his head in 3 minutes. Madness.

Lovely bloke was/is Frank and I always appreciated the tenner he gave me on the xmas's when I was his paper boy 27/28 years ago.
Only Robin Squire the MP gave me more (£20), though I now realise he probably claimed it on expenses!! ;o)

Anyone remember him going incognito with Cass in the Chicken Run a few years back... did not want to be noticed so wore a big woollen trench coat and a flat cap... only thing was it was in August and it was about 80 degrees... yeah he properly blended in!!
